The best things happen when you are least expecting them! This year I was not looking forward for my birthday, which is very uncharacteristic of me. The usually all excited Keer was down as I was turning out to be a loser in CAT and office work was becoming terribly boring and exhausting. I could find no reason to celebrate; but Mahi, bro, my officemates, friends made it so special that I'll remember and cherish these memories all my life.
I was almost sleeping when Mahi surprised me at night 12 with a wonderful chocolate cake! He pretended that he was at home, tired and sleepy, waiting to wish me at night 12 and then doze off. And I very innocently believed him while he was struggling hard to avoid the traffic noise so that I dont get a doubt. 12 o'clock! There he was at my door with a broad smile and a chocolate cake!
Bro got a cute lil cake lest it would get spoiled as we do not have a fridge at home. As soon as Mahi left he flashed his sweet innocent smile and said, "Chelli hum bhi cake laye hain" :) :) I can vouch that his well- practised funnily innocent smile would bring a smile on anyone's face. He is the best and most adorable brother in the world :) :)

After attending several calls and receiving birthday SMSs, I slept at around 2 o'clock. It was really touching that people remembered my bday and cared to wish me at night 12. Morning I was ready in my new dress, brimming with happiness after attending few more phone calls. I left for office in an autorikshaw( I mollycoddled myself since its ma bday! ), after going to temple.
My
Day@ OfficeEveryone wished me in the office. Sheela came to my desk with a gift. It was a beautiful flower-vase! I distributed chocolates in the office-an assorted box of Dairy Milk, Kit Kat, Five Star, Perk and Bar One, which I was happy seeing my colleagues savour ebulliently. Meanwhile, Mahi told me that he distributed my bday cake to his colleagues and they all wished me. Isn't it lovely?! I was prepared to leave early and I honestly did not expect any surprises. But as I was preparing to leave, the lights were switched off, and I saw Heena coming slowly with a cake illuminated with candles! Every one joined and sang d bday song as I was cutting the cake. I could see happiness and well wishes in everyone's faces and the gesture was heartwarming. I got a cute teddy bear as ma bday gift which, I eventually learned, was from Sowmya & Prasad!
The reason why I was so overwhelmed by there amazing gesture is because of the efforts which they all had put in to make me happy. Who would do so much for a friend's bday even after having a break up, the night before, with the guy whom she was dating for more than 3 years from now? HC's heart was shattered into pieces but that did not stop her from making my bday so special. Thank you HC. Which expecting mother would put in so much of effort to celebrate a friend's bday, when she herself is loaded with household work and the responsibility of an year old son. Thank you VS. Thank you friends, I'm blessed with your friendship.
Lunch @ Barbeque Nation
Mahi, Aadu and I had the time of our life at BN. Bloody Boozers were enjoying their drinks while I was sipping a Martini. We talked about everything and anything- right from beverages to chewing chicken bones, from Moby to Bob Sinclar, from puzzles to Baba Ramdev ;) Sitting on the corner table, nonstop eating, chatting and laughing, making fun of the guys who burnt their barbeques, we forgot the world around. It was only after the waiter got the bill(by mistake), assuming that we are done with the lunch, while we were still relishing our starters, that we realised how much time we took! We came for lunch and found ourselves sitting in the restaurant all alone, laughing out loudly like devils till evening! Thanks Aadu and Mahi again for the wonderful time which I will cherish for years from now.
Not to forget the bag full of assorted gifts from Aadu- A gorgeous watch (the Serious gift!) and a pair of cute blue chappals( the Funny gift!) and delicious chocolates (which she picked up from Malaysia/Singapore). I loved them all ( and even the Latin Quaters bag in which she gave the gifts). Thanks a lot darling!
Evening @ Mahi's place
Mahi's mom invited me home. (tell me which mom on earth would be so cool! No wonder he loves his mom so much) Aunty gave me sweets and I couldn't say no, looking at her love filled eyes. I had to stuff it in my mouth as I finished my lunch only 15 minutes back. I took her blessings and tears were in my eyes as I was away from Mom and Dad :( Thank you Aunty for making me feel at home
Dinner @ Zuka
Bro and I reached home and I took some snaps with all my gifts (Sai's Toblerones too which I forgot to mention). Then we headed off to Zuka, me wearing my brand new top and stuffed ourselves to death as both of us were already full:) (we ordered very little though!)
I checked out ma new top at Zuka and fell in love with it. Thanks a Mahi, you made my day :)
